The Queens Zoo is an 18-acre park zoo located within the Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in the New York City Borough of Queens. It is part of the partnership between the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation and the Wildlife Conservation Society integrating a system of 4 zoos and 1 aquarium. The Queens Zoo is the home of over 75 different species, and it is not located far from MoMA PS1.

Due to the Partnership between NYC Parks and the WCS, the Queens Zoo hosts a wide variety of events relating to environmental education. Their programming actively encourages children of all ages to “explore their wild side” while learning all about the wildlife living in the zoo and their habitats. Queens Zoo Animals

The Queens Zoo is the home of more than 75 different animal species native to the American Continent, including Pumas, Bald Eagles, American Bison, Bobwhite Quail, Canadian Lynx, Texas Longhorn, Pronghorn, Cattle Egret, and the Southern Pudu among others. Additionally, the Queens Zoo is also home to the rare Andean Bear.

Tickets for the Queens Zoo can be purchased online ahead of your visit, print the voucher or keep it on your phone, and show it at the zoo’s entrance to gain access. General admissions cost is adults $9.95, children $6.95, seniors $7.95, and Children under 2 enter for free.

Queens Zoo Playground

The Queens Zoo offers entertainment for the entire family, but their special focus is the children. In addition to the many activities dedicated to the little ones, there is also the Queens Zoo Interactive Playground, combining fun and education together.

Queens Zoo Aviary

The Queens Zoo Aviary is the crown jeweled of the park. The Structure’s history alone is amazingly-riched, dating back to the1964 New York World’s Fair. The aviary is the home of some of the most exquisite birds indigenous to the American Continent, including Bald Eagles, Bobwhite Quails, and Cattle Egrets.
