Blissville Queens, NY Private Investigator and Process Server
Blissville is a neighborhood within Long Island City, which is another neighborhood belonging to the New York City borough of Queens. ZIP code is 11101, it is patrolled by the NYPD’s 108th Police Precinct. It belongs to the Queens Community Board 1 along with all the northern section of Long Island City, and neighborhoods like Astoria, Ditmars, Woodside, and Queensbridge. The town is bordered by the Calvary Cemetery, Newtown Creek, and the Long Island Expressway. The community was named after famous land developer and political personality, Neziah Bliss, who owned the land where the town was founded. Bliss was also responsible for the construction of the drawbridge, Blissville Bridge, a link between Greenpoint, Brooklyn, and Blissville. Nowadays, another bridge connects these three neighborhoods, the Greenpoint Avenue Bridge.
Until 1870, the community was a small and forgotten village, who then became a part of Long Island City. Almost since its inception, Blissville has been a working-class industrial neighborhood. For a long time, the community was widely famous for the number of companies all over town, nowadays, however, the scenery has somewhat changed, although there are still a few companies left, including the notable, Silvercup Studios East, where shows like Ugly Betty, Elementary, and Person of Interest, and movies such as Julie & Julia, Analyze That, and The Devil Wears Prada were all filmed.
According to its residents, the community’s peaceful suburban experience is due to its location, right in the middle of nowhere. There is no close by subway stations, and there is only one bus route, the Q67, which also serves the nearby town of Lauren Hill.
