Morrisania Bronx, NY Private Investigator and Process Server
Situated along the southwestern portion of the Bronx, one of the five boroughs of New York City, sits Morrisania, a low-income residential community. It is bounded by the Cross-Bronx Expressway, Crotona-Prospect Avenue, Webster Avenue, and 161st Street. The town’s main roadway is Third Avenue. Along with Crotona Park, Melrose, Claremont, and Concourse Village make up the Bronx Community Board 3. ZIP codes are 10456 and 10459. Morrisania is patrolled by the officers at the 42nd Precinct of the New York City Police Department. It has a population of approximately 17.000 with a predominantly mixed Hispanic, Latino, and White demographic.
Morrisania was named after the 2000-acre estate owned by the powerful Morris family, Manor of Morrisania. As one of the most aristocratically and politically influential families, at some time in their long history, they owned most of the Bronx and New Jersey. Its two most notable members are Lewis Morris who signed the Declaration of Independence, and Gouverneur Morris one of the Founding Fathers of the United States, and a signatory of the U.S. Constitution.
Morrisania is a residential neighborhood comprised mostly of public housing complexes spread throughout the town. There are a total of twenty low-income properties. The Morris High School Historic District is one of the National Landmarks. Public transportation is somewhat of a problem for the residents of Morrisania, there are no NYC Subway stations, but there are a total of eight bus lines from the MTA Regional Bus serving the community, taking people to and from nearby subway stations located in other Neighborhoods.
