Brownsville Brooklyn, NY Private Investigator and Process Server

Brownsville is part of the Brooklyn Township in the New York United States. This is a residential neighborhood that encompasses an area of about 1,163 square miles that according to the 2010 U.S. Census comprised of 58,300 residents. It generally not known exactly how the Brownsville neighborhood is delimited and its boundaries are often very confusing, however, it is mostly known to be north of Canarsie, south of Cypress Hills and Bushwick, east of East Flatbush, west of East New York, and surrounded to the northeast by Crown Heights.

Brooklyn Community District 16 is home to the Brownsville neighborhood and New York City Council Districts 41 and 42 are the community representatives for diplomatic or political management issues. The 73rd Precinct of the New York City Police Department is accountable for guarding and maintaining security in the area. Numbers 11233 and 11212 were assigned to serve as the main zip codes.

Compared to any neighborhood in New York City, Brownsville has always been a neighborhood with one of the highest crime and poverty rates. Initially, the area was a settlement composed mostly of Jewish workers and in 1858 its present incarnation was founded. In the 1950s the Brownsville, community underwent a significant demographic change when an abundance of Latinos and African Americans arrived to settle in the area. The most concentrated area composed of the most public housing in the country is in Brownsville, characterized by having several types of public housing in a small area located in six superblocks.
