It is a neighborhood that is surrounded by Williamsburg to the northeast, by the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway and the Brooklyn Navy Yard to the north, with Prospect Heights and Atlantic Avenue to the south and southwest, with Fort Greene and Vanderbilt Avenue to the west, and with Bedford-Stuyvesant and Classon Avenue to the east.
