Downtown Flushing is a sub-neighborhood belonging to Flushing one of the neighborhoods located in the New York City borough of Queens. Unlike the rest of the community, Downtown Flushing is a mostly commercial community, ranked the number four largest central business district in NYC. Downtown Flushing is home to one of the most culturally diverse communities in all of NYC.

People who live and work in New York City tend to refer to Downtown Flushing as the “Chinese Manhattan,” and while some people believe this statement to be incorrect, the fact of the matter is, that this sub-section of Flushing, Queens, is the commercial, transportation, and financial hub of the borough. Downtown Flushing is famous for having some of the best restaurants, and bakeries highlighting the best of the Asian Cuisine. This is also the place, where one of the biggest Chinese enclaves outside of China resides, during the morning commute it is easy to confuse this NYC community with an Asian City, as vendors sell Chinese-language newspapers to passersby.

The residential area consists of a six-block radius around Main Street and Roosevelt Boulevard, some of these buildings date back to the early 1900s. The main appeal for people considering moving to Downtown Flushings revolves around the Asian culture that has swallowed the neighborhood.
