Electchester Queens, NY Private Investigator and Process Server
Electchester is a massive working-class housing complex situated within Pomonok, one of the neighborhoods belonging to the New York City borough of Queens. It is considered by most people, has the birthplace of the concept “low-income housing.” As part of Pomonok, Electchester belongs to the Queens Comunity Board 8 along with Fresh Meadows, Briarwood, South Flushing, Kew Garden Hills, Cunningham Heights, Utopia, Hilltop Village, Holliswood, and Jamaica Estates. It is patrolled by the officers of the 107th Police Precinct of the New York City Police Department. Pomonok shares the ZIP code 11365 with Fresh Meadows.
Electchester housing complex lies between Jewel Avenue and Parsons Boulevard. It was established as a “city for workers” by Harry Van Arsdale, Jr in 1949 in a joint venture with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. They purchased 103-acres from the city and began construction of the residential buildings. There is a total of 2500 units across 38 buildings, and a population of nearly 6000. The community has had its fair share of problems with crime, especially with organized crime and drug distribution. The town’s history has been riddled with shootings, robberies, and drug busts throughout the years.
Public transportation it’s not an issue for the residents of Electchester, five NYC bus lines service the city, including an express line to and from Midtown. There is also quick access to the city’s most important expressways, such as the Whitestone Expressway connecting with Flushing and the Bronx, and the Van Wyck Expressway connecting to JFK International Airport.
