Hunts Point Bronx, NY Private Investigator and Process Server

Hunts Point is an area of the municipality of Bronx located in its southern area. Located in the middle of different parts of New York; north of the East River, west of the Bronx River, and south of the Bruckner Expressway. Gives rise to the Hunts Point Cooperative Market, which is considered one of the world’s food distributors. The first inhabitants of the area were Europeans, who arrived at what is now Hunts Point in 1663. There was a land called “Wekkguasegeeck” which John Richardson and Edward Jessup bought from an indigenous tribe.

Hunts Point is named after Thomas Hunt Jr, who inherited the land as Jessup’s son-in-law. While this process of transfer of rights on the ground, many wealthy families came to occupy the area in the late 1850s. At that time, the existence of Hunts Point was little known to the city’s inhabitants, but after a couple of years and until 1900 many citizens flocked to the area as it became known. The streets are known today as Fox, Tiffany, and Leggett were named after former owners of large properties in Hunts Point; H.D. Tiffany, Leggett and Fox’s, known for owning the famous decorative arts and jewelry store Tiffany & Co.

After the First World War, Hunts Point was severely affected, as it used to be known as a place of high-class tourism, but after the chaos, the big mansions were replaced by apartments, the long meadows by streets, and little by little the vacation paradise became a residential area inhabited in masse. The Hunts Point postal service serves under zip code 10474.
