Jamaica Queens, NY Private Investigator and Process Server
Jamaica is one of the neighborhoods located in the New York City borough of Queens. It’s mostly a commercial and retail community, although, some sections of the neighborhood are residential. Jamaica is bounded by Jamaica Estates, Hollis, Richmond Hill, Briarwood, Rochdale Village, Jamaica Hills, Springfield Gardens, Kew Gardens Hills, and St. Albans. It belongs to the Queens Community Board 12, and its ZIP codes are 11423, 11436, 11432, 11435, 11433, and 11434. The officers of the 103rd and the 113th Precincts of the New York City Police Department are in charge of patrolling this vast neighborhood.
Jamaica is not only near the heart of Queens but as the county seat is where most of the local government buildings are located such as the Queens Civil Court, the Queens County Supreme Court, the Social Security Administration, and a Laboratory from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The name Jamaica does not derive from the Carribean island country, but rather from the Lenape Indian word for beaver, “Jameco,” given by the first English settlers of the area in 1664.
Due to its proximity to the geographic center of Queens, residents of Jamaica have no issues with public transportation, in fact, morning commuters enjoy several options to choose from while traveling to Midtown Manhattan such as multiple express bus lines, subways stations, and the Long Island Rail Road stations. The ride to Penn Station takes less than twenty minutes. Jamaica is in constant evolution, several local and city-wide groups are always developing ways to increase the Town’s commercial status.
