This town belongs to the city of Smithtown also forming part of Suffolk County located in the Long Island district of New York City in the United States of America. It is worth noting that it is an unincorporated village of Smithtown although it located in the city perimeter. The western border of the town of Kings Park is marked by Fort Salonga, while its boundary is marked by Nissequogue just across the Nissequogue River. On its southeast side is bounded by the village of Smithtown and on its southwest side by the Commack area. The community of Kings Park is characterized primarily by numerous parks for the enjoyment of its residents, excellent schools with a good academic program, and its beautiful natural environment.
This village is home to the Kings Park Psychiatric Center, which was built in 1885 by Kings County and which they chose to establish is a quiet place like this town rather than located in the busy city of New York. The CDP covers an area of about 6.6 square miles or a total area of 17.1 km2, of which 5.93% is made up of water, and 6.2 square miles composed only of land.
