Melrose Bronx, NY Private Investigator and Process Server

Melrose is a neighborhood situated in the southwestern section of the Bronx, one of the five boroughs of New York City. It is essentially a residential community, bounded by the world-famous “The Hub,” the heart of South Bronx, Third Avenue, and Park Avenue. The main roadways in Melrose are the Third Avenue, and Melrose Boulevard. Along with Port Morris and Mott Haven, it makes up the Bronx Community Board 1. ZIP codes are 10456, 10451, and 10455. It is patrolled by the officer of the 40th Precinct of the New York City Police Department. Melrose has a population of nearly 25.000 predominantly mixed Hispanic and African-American demographic.

There is a branch of the NYC Public Library located at 910 Morris Avenue. Melrose is also home to several NYCHA housing projects spread across the town, one of the highest concentrations in the entire borough. The major local news outlet is the Mott Haven Herald. A monthly newspaper who covers all the relevant news from Mott Haven, Melrose, and Port Morris. It is written and edited by journalism students from the City University of New York.

Public transportation is not an issue for the residents of Melrose, the MTA Reginal Bus operates 9 lines, in and to the neighborhood. Additionally, they can board the 2 and 5 Trains at the Third Avenue NYC subway station. There is also a Metro-North Railroad station, although, for years the residents have been pleading for the service to be improved. Melrose has a crime-riddled past, however, in recent years, it has gained a reputation as one of the safest neighborhoods in the Bronx.
