Its western border is Hollis, its southern border is Cambria Heights, its eastern border is New Hyde Park and its western border is Oakland Gardens. The Cunningham Park, Alley Pond Park, and the historic Long Island Motor Parkway headquarters of the turn-of-the-century race competition, the Vanderbilt Cup, are nearby the neighborhood.

The 105th Precinct of the New York City Police Department is responsible for patrolling and the 23rd District of the New York City Council politically represents Queens Village. It has a population of 52,504 inhabitants.

The real estate of this suburban neighborhood is characterized by having a small-town character in the middle of a huge metropolitan area, honoring its name. It is made up of small lots of both single-family homes and buildings that house many families. Most of the houses have a colonial style and are well maintained. Besides, it has a Long Island Rail Road train station, which is an advantage for residents.

Local shopping options are quite limited and are located along Hempstead Avenue, Jamaica Avenue, Braddock Avenue, and Hillside Avenue.

Queens Village, like many parts of Queens, is diverse and attracts young families and immigrants. The neighborhood is primarily Hispanic, American Caribbean, Indian, Guyanese, Jamaican, and Filipino, as well as a lot of Asian-Americans.
