Willet Points Queens, NY Private Investigator and Process Server

Willet Points is an industrial zone located in the municipality of Queens, specifically in Corona, New York City. The locals often call the area “Iron Triangle”. The Flushing River and the Citi Camp are west of Willets Point, this course is renowned for its numerous junk shops and cars. Its population is very small, as it has about 10 people.

After World War II, started proposals to redevelop Willets Point, but got full traction in 2007.  The plan could not be carried out as it presented numerous lawsuits over the years by members of the New York City Council and some area locals who disagreed with the idea. There was a breakthrough for Willets Point in 2011, as New York City invested $4 billion as part of a redevelopment plan with the goal of building homes, public schools, recreation areas, and even a retail mall.

Two years later, in 2013, a project to redevelop much of the neighborhood was begun by the New York City Economic Development Corporation. The industrial part of the area was completely removed in 2016.

There was a blockade by the New York State court to modify the redevelopment plan, which slowed the development of the mall. But further ahead, in 2018, the project was continued with the aim of opening at the latest by 2023.

The entire Willet Points area was designed for industrial development, as it has no sewers or sidewalks. The lack of paved roads and the geography of the area caused flooding problems in 2013 after a continuous sequence of multiple torrential spots of rain.

There was a residential improvement for Willets Point in 2018, when it was agreed to create a recreational area of 6 acres of land, an institution for more than 400 students and buildings with a total of more than 1000 apartments, all under the commission of the administrators and promoters of Blasio.
