Also, Central Riverdale as well as Riverdale is located within the Bronx Community District 8 and has the same numbers for the postal service, which are 10471 and 10463. New York City Police Department Precinct 50 patrols the area.
The neighborhood preserves a mountainous landscape worthy of contemplation and stands out for its extensions of original forest and vegetation, and its numerous parks. Both Riverdale and Central Riverdale have views of the Hudson River, the Empire State Building, the New Jersey Palisades and the George Washington Bridge because it has one of the highest elevations in New York City, and the neighborhood covers an area of about 7.8 square kilometers.
