Fresh Pond used to be a neighborhood located in Queens, one of the boroughs of New York City. The town is no longer known as “Fresh Pond,” after it was divided among the neighboring communities. The commercial hubs are located in Fresh Pond Road, 61st Street, Metropolitan Avenue, and Eliot Avenue. Public transportation is not an issue for the neighborhood, there’s a New York City Subway station, and there multiple Bus lines serving the community. Fresh Pond got its name for the amount freshwater ponds in the vicinity, all of which were drained and filled out, and re-develop into the community everyone knows today. The town’s main road, Fresh Pond Road is one of the oldest and most important roadways in all of Queens, its history can be easily traced back to some 400 hundred years ago.
