One interesting fact about this neighborhood is that when most people talk about Long Island City, they are actually referring to Hunters Point.

The community has no problems in terms of public transportation, morning commuters are only one subway stop away from Midtown Manhattan. Hunters Point is all about its incredible Waterfront with its mesmerizing views of Manhattan’s skyline. It is also the place where Newtown Creek and the East River meet. The neighborhood is close to the Chrysler Building and the United Nations complex. The commercial hub is located on Vernon Boulevard, there are restaurants, shops, and bars.

Hunters Point is relatively safe, especially when compared to other New York City neighborhoods. At night is better to stay off desolated areas, especially those around Queens Plaza, and the Long Island Expressway. The town’s signature landmark is a brownstones line on 45th avenue from the 19th century. The New York State Supreme Court House building is also located in Hunters Point.
