Jamaica Hills located in New York City. One of the most modest neighborhoods that are part of the municipality of Queens. It’s a middle-class peaceful residential community in central Queens. A few squares miles between Hillcrest at the Grand Central Parkway on the north, Jamaica Estates at Homelawn Street on the east, Jamaica at Hillside Avenue on the south, and Briarwood at Parsons Boulevard on the west surround this neighborhood. Also, along with the extension of Long Island, specifically on the terminal moraine is where Jamaica Hills is focused.
Primarily its population was settled of those characters who left communities below ethnic development, until after 1964 that began to grow further ethnically manifold. Currently, Jamaica Hills has a notable diverse population, has a big mix of Hispanic, African American, South Asian, and Caucasian residents. Many Greek immigrants live in the area too, thanks to the inauguration of a Greek Orthodox church in the 1960s. 107th Precinct of the New York Police Department is responsible for patrolling Jamaica Hills.
Rich property owners took advantage of the pleasant hills for built multitudes of expansive mansions in the late 1800s and early 1900s. This green Queens neighborhood is dotted with large, single-family houses, which many of them are on the sunny rolling hills. In the southern portion, there are several Jamaica Hills apartments available but, in the eastern section of this neighborhood are the most extensive homes with beautiful front yards.
Jamaica Hills residents have access to the subway on Hillside Avenue and the LIRR station on Sutphin Boulevard. Parsons Boulevard, 169th Street, and Jamaica – 179th Street Stations are the subway stops they can take.
