Near to the end of Jamaica Bay and just right behind Howard Beach can be meet the Queens area of Lindenwood. This Howard Beach neighborhood remains in vacant lots, which began its growth between the 1950s and 1960s. This community has a reasonably wide variety of homes including from single-family houses to duplexes, and also from rowhouses to apartments with garden.
Mainly, it is structurally made up of small apartment buildings with a maximum of 6 floors each, built with red and orange bricks. Those models of buildings were constructed in the early and mid-60s. In the 50s decade, even smaller buildings were built, cooperative red bricks “garden apartments” with 4 floors, and can be seen from the Belt Parkway.
