Van Cortlandt Village Bronx, NY Private Investigator and Process Server

Situated in the northwestern section of the New York City borough of the Bronx, sits Van Cortlandt Village, a residential sub-neighborhood of Kingsbridge. It is bounded by Van Cortlandt Park, Major Deegan Expressway, West 238th Street, and Jerome Park Reservoir. As a part of Kingsbridge, Van Cortlandt Village belongs to the Bronx Community Board 8 along with Fieldston, Spuyten Duyvil, Kingsbridge Heights, Riverdale, and Marble Hill, and its ZIP code is 10463. The sub-neighborhood is patrolled by the 50th Precinct of the New York City Police Department. Van Cortlandt Village was founded mostly due to the arrival of the IRT Broadway-Seventh Avenue during the early 20th-century. The neighborhood suffered from a sudden influx of immigrants, and in 1975 Van Cortlandt Village was officially recognized as a neighborhood.

Van Cortlandt Village, together with the rest of Kingsbridge, has a population of approximately 50.000, and a predominantly Hispanic and Latino demographic. Although there is a significant African-American community residing in the neighborhood. One of the most attractive aspects of this sub-section has always been its low density, as it boasts of having one of the lowest rates in all of the Bronx. However, the neighborhood does lack a proper commercial hub, although most of the basic shopping needs can be fulfilled by visiting Sedgwick Avenue, for more special or specific items, residents will have to leave town, which is somewhat of an issue, since there are no New York City Subway Stations nearby. However, the MTA Regional Bus Operations does have five routes, two of which are express lines serving the community.
