Located in the East Bronx area of the New York City borough of the Bronx sits the neighborhood of Westchester Square, a working-class and residential community bounded by Castle Hill Avenue, East Tremont Avenue, Waterbury Avenue, Silver Street, Westchester Creek, and Blondell Avenue. The primary thoroughfares in Westchester Square are Williamsbridge Road, East Tremont Avenue, and Westchester Avenue. The town’s commercial is hub is the titular square, located in the intersection of the aforementioned roadways which gives it a triangular shape to the square. The neighborhood belongs to the Bronx Community Board 10 along with Pelham Bay, City Island, Westchester Heights, Throggs Neck, and Co-op City, and the ZIP codes are 10461 and 10462. To determine the population of Westchester Square, the government of New York City classifies it a single neighborhood together with Westchester Heights, Van Nest, and Morris Park. The population is of nearly 30.000 with a predominantly Hispanic and Latino demographic. Although, there are some longstanding Irish-Americans and Italian Americans communities as well as a growing African-American populace.

Westchester Square is home to the world-famous Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance, located near the St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. The residents of this community have access to two major grees spaces, Owen Dolen Park, which was recently renovated, and the Perly Gates Playground. Public transportation is not a problem for the morning commuters of Westchester Square.
