The town of Brookville is one of the villages that are part of Nassau County in the Long Island district of New York City in the United States of America, established more specifically within the city of Oyster Bay. According to the data provided by the national census that was carried out in 2010, they register that at that time the population of the village is composed of 3,465 inhabitants. The village of Brookville was nicknamed as the richest city in America, under the perspective of BusinessWeek magazine. The current mayor is Daniel Serota. In the town of Brookville is located the large campus of the New York Institute of Technology, named Old Westbury, whose half occupies 1,050 acres of land within the village. Also, the Brookville community has been home to Long Island University’s largest private campus, the LIU Post. Within the town also established Long Island Lutheran Middle and High School which has an excellent educational program.

The Locust Valley Central School District partially serves Brookville, but the Jericho Union Free School District serves the vast majority of the area as well as most of Jericho and Muttontown. The town encompasses a total land area of 4.0 square miles or 10 km2 in total, according to data provided by the U.S. Census Bureau. The Brookville Geographic Village previously consisted of a narrow, long expanse of land until the village was incorporated in 1931 and formed in two stages.
