Lighthouse Hill is a neighborhood that sits on top of a hill of the same name, located in the central east wing of Staten Island municipality in Richmond County, New York City and is surrounded by different areas of the municipality; north of Richmond and Oakwood Heights, west of New Drop, and north, west and part of the east is surrounded by Staten Island green areas, such as Latourette Park, Blood Root Valley, and High Rock Park.
In its southern area is the Richmond Road, which extends across the entire boundary of the neighborhood, even so, the best way to travel Lighthouse Hill is through its various roads as one of its main, the Lighthouse Ave and St George Rd, which are scrolled through the different houses and shops in the neighborhood. It has a population of about 50,000 people of which the majority is Citizen US Born and is considered a residential neighborhood because there is not much trade in the area and the great majority of their homes are inhabited by families. Before 1911 the neighborhood was known as Richmond Hill, the same name as a neighborhood in the municipality of Queens, and acquired its current name because the area was built Staten Island Range Lighting Light that began to give birth to the Lower New York Bay from 1912, the light has a range of 21 miles and served for hundreds of ships to reach the bay safely on nights of navigation. Its first name, Richmond Hill, is still present in the neighborhood and lives to be the Richmond Hill Road which is the one that runs throughout the southern area of Lighthouse Hill.
