Marble Hill Bronx, NY Private Investigator and Process Server

Situated along the northern-most section of Manhattan, one of the neighborhoods belonging to the New York City borough of the Bronx, lies Marble Hill, although originally it belonged to Manhattan. However, in 1895, when construction of the Harlem River Ship Canal began Marble Hill was cut off from Manhattan, leaving it surrounded by water in a setting that resembled a Moat. It wasn’t until two decades later when Spuyten Duyvil Creek was filled up, that the neighborhood joined the Bronx on the Mainland. While some people claim that politically the community does, in fact, belongs to Manhattan, spiritually, the residents have always identified as a typical Bronx neighborhood. The town was eloquently named after it was discovered the neighborhood was sitting on top of large deposits of marble.

Together with Van Cortland Village, Fieldstone, Spuyten Duyvil, Kingsbridge, Riverdale, and Kingsbridge Heights, it makes up the Bronx Community 8.
