Richmondtown together with the fellow neighborhoods of Arrochar, Travis, Chelsea, Willowbrook, Dongan Hills, Ocean Breeze, Egbertville, Heartland Village, South Beach, and Castleton Corners, belongs to the Staten Island Community Board 2, the neighborhood is patrolled by the capable police force of the 120th Precinct of the New York City Police Department, and the ZIP code is 10306.

Richmondtown has a population of approximately 6.000 with a predominantly White demographic. Living in this Staten Island neighborhood is to reside in a place steeped with North American history. Since the mid-1960s the town has gone through a major construction boom, and it is currently one of the most sought out after destination for new families moving into New York City. It even ranks above the borough of Brooklyn. Public transportation is definitely not a problem for the residents of this community, there are several local bus routes plus one express bus. Historic Richmond Town can also be found here, a museum complex showcasing life during colonial times.
