Woodlawn Bronx, NY Private Investigator and Process Server

Located in the northernmost edge of the New York City borough of the Bronx lies the residential neighborhood of Woodlawn or Woodlawn Heights like it is also called. This predominantly Irish-American working-class community is bounded by Van Cortlandt Park, McLean Avenue, Woodlawn Cemetery, and the Bronx River. Together with Baychester, Edenwald, Olinville, Wakefield, Eastchester, Williamsbridge, and Fish Bay belongs to the Bronx Community Board 12, and the ZIP code is 10470. Like Williamsbridge, Woodlawn is patrolled by the capable police officers at the 47th Precinct of the New York City Police Department.

Historically Woodlawn has been a predominantly Irish-American neighborhood. Together with nearby Wakefield, has a population of nearly 43.000 with a predominantly African-American demographic, and a significant number of Hispanic and Latino immigrants as well. Woodlawn is widely known throughout New York City for having some of the most active civic groups, some of them are The Woodlawn Library Support Group, the Woodlawn Taxpayers and Community Association, Inc, Women of Woodlawn, and the 47th Precinct Community Council, The Emerald Isle Immigration Center, and The Aisling Irish Community Center, to name a few. The purpose of these groups is to keep the residents involved in everything that is going on in the neighborhood, as well as providing support for those just moving in.

Public transportation is not a major problem for the town’s morning commuters. The MTA Regional Bus Operations has four bus routes serving the community, one of which is an express bus traveling directly to Midtown Manhattan. Additionally, there’s the Woodlawn Subway Station and a Metro-North Railroad Station.
